Psychometric Testing
Psychometric testing involves the use of questions covering a range of categories to gauge, among other things, aspects of a person's personality that might not be attained in conventional ways. The advantages of applying this to the recruitment process are obvious, a valuable insight into, and a more accurate profile of the character of your candidates.
We have consultants who are trained in the use of personality and ability tests. In this way we can assist clients in making objective assessments in their hiring decisions and reassure candidates that they are being given the fairest chance to demonstrate their skills and abilities.
The personality tests provide an insight into a candidate's work styles and behaviour, enabling clients to quickly identify the most relevant candidate for the job. The ability tests (such as the numerical and verbal critical reasoning tests) measure a candidate's current ability and future potential.
The tests are reliable, impartial and not subject to the vagaries of human decision-making. They represent a cost-effective means of reducing the number of applicants to the few that warrant methods of selection such as structured interviews and group exercises. GAAPS provides advice on the use of psychometric tests and can provide a full testing service.
