As a Pricing Manager you will advise on the pricing and design of new products (covering technical and market-based pricing), with a focus on protection products.
As a Pricing Manager your main responsibilities will involve:
Supporting Business Unit's (BU) Propositions and Actuarial teams in new product development and repricing/refresh initiatives with a focus on protection products
Identifying opportunities/need for product repricing in protection, based on demand from and review of 6-monthly profitability
Identifying opportunities for new protection products, based on analysis of competitive landscape and market trends and review of BU portfolios
Supporting BUs on selected pricing and development related initiatives in protection which includes:
Advising on product design features (e.g., benefit design, premium structure, linkages to UW/claims)
Developing/advising on approach for technical pricing (e.g., pricing parameters, granularity)
Developing/advising on approach for market-based pricing (e.g., competitive pricing per cell)
Developing/reviewing pricing and profit testing models
Providing support in navigating global product approval process
Closely interacting with central and BU underwriting teams
Driving improvements in technical and market-based pricing methodology by monitoring competitor/market pricing trends, interacting with reinsurers and data providers and conducting research and develop methodologies for pricing of new/less familiar risk types
Developing family of generic pricing models for use by BUs
Fostering best practice sharing across BUs in the area of protection pricing and product development
Significent years experience in developing and pricing protection products gained either in the Products/Actuarial department of a Life insurance company, or with an actuarial consultancy
Demonstrated track record of successful product introductions/repricing initiatives
Experience in a competitive broker market (e.g., UK, Ireland, Australia)
Expert knowledge of actuarial pricing and reserving concepts
Knowledge of statistical and actuarial modeling
Expert knowledge of insurance products
Strong Project Management skills
Proficiency in English, both written and oral skills.
